A new take on same sex marriage

This story made me laugh today. It's the law of unintended consequences in operation.

www.theguardian.com/world/2017/dec/23/two-heterosexual-irish-men-marry-to-avoid-inheritance-tax-on-house

Here's hoping the link works.

Why do I not doubt that the government will challenge the validity of the "marriage" and collect the taxes when one of the parties die since the two have publicly stated that they are not homosexuals and are doing so for the purpose of avoiding the tax?

In any case, the intended consequence of the legalization has happened:  the people have less respect for marriage.
